Here is a new political action party that I would be glad to be a part of. The “Milk Party” initiative has a true focus rather than an ideology like most new parties and that seems to be the best course for government action. There needs to be an objective with focus and goals for the group to work for.
The Milk Party is about children and who needs more help than kids in Florida? Florida and Ocala specifically is severely lacking in opportunities and attention to children. Schools are a mess, kids have nothing positive to do after school and summers are wasted away on useless video games and petty crimes like shoplifting and vandalism. Children in Florida lack in educational opportunities, medical services and crimes against children.
Maybe the Milk party will be able to bring attention to these issues children in Florida face and actually gain support to make the changes necessary to help kids in Ocala and all of Florida.
The local rally for The Children’s Movement of Florida on Wednesday had the makings of a political event. But to the children in the audience, the “Milk Party” was about being a kid and having fun.
Children, making up much of the crowd of approximately 1,000 from Gainesville and Ocala at the gym at Santa Fe College, are the focus for adults and the new statewide initiative aimed at making them a priority with lawmakers and others.
David Lawrence Jr., president and co-chair of The Children’s Movement of Florida, who got a loud welcome as he told the crowd he’s a Gator, asked for everyone’s help to build the party.
“With your help, leadership and insistence, the children of Florida could become number one to the leaders in Florida,” said Lawrence, former publisher of the Miami Herald.
