Got a flat? Thinking about purchasing a tire in the Ocala area? Look no further than Ocala’s very own Family Tire and Auto Center, nestled just outside of the heart of the Ocala square, right across the street from the State Attorney’s office on 441 and and SR 40.
After finding our car with an unexpected flat after doing a bit of shopping on a fine Saturday evening, and being forced to leave our vehicle in the parking lot overnight, my family and I decided to start our hunt for a replacement tire early in the morning on the following Sunday; mistake number one.
On our journey to find a suitable replacement for our flat tire, we made a few stops, before ultimately coming to the realization that none of the national companies were going to provide us with a suitable price quote. So we waited yet another day, out of the dissatisfaction with of the national brands, which quoted us at as much as $75 – $125 for one tire, and gave us static about the mention of “carry out” service.
On Monday we called John’s Family Tire and Auto Center of Ocala, and from the very beginning their customer service was kinder and overall more helpful than all of the national brands we tried put together. When I arrived with the tire, I was greeted by a smiling ‘John’; owner of the establishment, who took care of me in an extremely timely fashion, and quickly introduced me to ‘Mike’ the mechanic.
Mike met me with an extended hand and a smile, wasting no time we headed to the back area which housed the tires. Walking and talking, he pointed out all of the tires which fit my specified dimensions, allowing me the opportunity to make my own decision regarding the tire of choice.
The whole process, from the initial greeting and transaction to Mike handing me the tire, took approximately 10 minutes, and ultimately cost me just $37 with tax. Ultimately, I came away from the experience feeling better to have spent my money locally, retaining, if even just for the moment, that much more money, in the hands of our local community.
